A note to our readers
We hope "Second Thought" will interest both new and longtime Sentinel readers. Our readers from over the years may recall the "Signs of the Times" column. Some of the items that used to find their way into that column will now appear in this new feature.
But "Second Thought" also has a broader purpose. As the title implies, its aim is to help us be alert to trends, both positive and negative, that are of particular note for those who believe active prayer and spiritually based thinking make a difference to the world. As the motto of the Sentinel has said from the beginning: "Watch."
We'll share excerpts from the press, books, and magazines that you might have missed or not given much thought to the first time around. We'll look at them again together. Sometimes we'll make an Editors' comment; at other times we'll leave it to you to draw conclusions.
Enjoy 1 free Sentinel article or audio program each month, including content from 1898 to today.
