A new horizon needed

During a recent radio program dealing with the Pacific Ocean area it was remarked that one country there has achieved a union of government with industry which has brought about a very high level of prosperity. The question then posed was, "Can it last?" Heard next was a young law student from that country, who spoke substantially along these lines: "What is ahead of me? Should I be content to enter an office and stay there until I retire forty years from now? I speak to my father about this, and his views are so different from mine we do not understand each other. I have sought the answer in various religions and have not found it yet—but I feel convinced, within myself, that the answer must be spiritual. "

How I longed to reach across the world to tell him how right he is, and not to give up his search!

I remember my own state of thought, after leaving the church of my childhood and searching for better answers. Attending a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, for the first time, I experienced such a shock when the two people conducting the service wore no special vestments that I gained nothing from the service. I was certainly looking for new wine, but still expecting it in the old bottle.
