Who, what, why?
Who am I? What am I? Why am I? Where did I come from? Such questions have concerned mankind for centuries. How well I remember my own early wonderings!
In recent years, controversy in some areas over the teaching in public schools of the evolutionary theory of creation as fact indicates how many people, who wish to be faithful to their religious teachings, feel threatened by the natural sciences.
The Bible clearly states that man is created by God. The Darwinian theory claims that he has a common ancestry with the apes. The proponents of both viewpoints, however, reason entirely in terms of the generally accepted belief that man is a material being. The dilemma cannot be solved on that basis, according to Christian Science.
