One Monday morning I was sent home from school because my teacher said I had pinkeye and that my mother should take me to a doctor. My mother took me to a Christian Science practitioner instead, and we talked a lot about God and His perfect children.
Then we went home and read the Bible Lesson [found in the Christian Science Quarterly], That evening all the swelling was gone, but my eyes were still not well. So I stayed home on Tuesday. By that evening my eyes were fine, so I went back to school the next day.
I'm very grateful to have God's protection.
SUSAN FITZMAURICE Pinelands, Cape Town, South Africa
As Susan's mother I would like to verify her testimony as being accurate. At the time of her healing, there was an epidemic of conjunctivitis throughout the country, and many children in her school were affected. We had been attending a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, where Susan was enrolled in the Sunday School, for six months. Susan was then seven years old. It was and is very thrilling for us all to see that Christian Science practice really does work.
