Yellow boots
I was looking out the window on a very rainy day. The sidewalk was glistening with sheets of water. Walking across the street was a girl in yellow boots. On the mirrorlike sidewalk were duplicates of those yellow boots, walking along with the original.
I saw this as illustrative of man's oneness with God as His spiritual reflection. Those yellow boots couldn't for a moment be separated from their, original; they couldn't walk off by themselves. As I thought about this, I saw that the reflection can't be separated from the original. It can't. They're one! And the reflection can't be unlike the original.
In Genesis we read, "God created man in his own image." Gen. 1:27. Mrs. Eddy, as a deep student of the Bible, accepted this wonderful statement and let it and other scriptural verses enlighten her thought. She writes in Science and Health, "Man is, and forever has been, God's reflection." Science and Health, p. 471. You and I, as we truly are, are the reflection of Spirit, good. How awe-inspiring!
