When I was about six years old, I started to have severe colds, and with these colds I became very deaf, expecially in wintertime. Sometimes I had great difficulty hearing what was said by my teacher at school. This was noticed by my teacher, so I had to go to the school doctor for tests. He advised my mother to have medical treatment for me. But my mother and I decided to stay with Christian Science. I knew this difficulty could be healed, so I trusted God completely. I knew that, in reality, I was God's idea—an idea perfect and whole. And I always kept in mind that nothing of God's idea could be lost. I often telephoned a Christian Science practitioner. She would tell me that God is everywhere.

One day when I was about ten years old, my mother took me to school. On the way, while we were talking together about how thankful we were for Christian Science, with a sudden bang! I could hear everything loud and clear. This was about four years ago. My hearing now is perfect and I can hear the smallest noises. I am very thankful to God for this healing.
