Loose him
Do you see your brother
as laden down with sin
and label him as "guilty,"
privately—from within?
Have you ever thought
he might be on his knees,
begging God's forgiveness
with repentant prayer that frees?
Loose him, and let him grow!
Don't bind him to the past.
Self-immolation may have proved
those false beliefs unclasped.
Loose him from a mortal selfhood
he never really owned.
Free him joyfully to be
the man whom God has always known.
