Fidelity to the true man
I always get a laugh from my children when I read them the story of the housekeeper who follows instructions literally. When asked to "change" the towels in the powder room, she gamely takes scissors in hand and cuts the towels to ribbons!
Perhaps we'd like to change the people around us and also ourselves. But do we or they really need changing or, like the towels, exchanging—that is, exchanging our current views of them and ourselves for fresh ones.
Christian Science teaches us that man can be seen correctly only from a spiritually enlightened point of view—as the flawless, purely spiritual manifestation of God, divine Mind. We learn also that anything not in accord with God's perfection is illusory. It is merely false information gained through the material senses, whose perceptions are totally unreliable.
