The compassionate touch
How the world needs the compassionate touch! How individuals need to feel they have been touched by love and understanding! It's a little thing—trivial some might say—but how scarce the kind touch seems to be, how hard to come by, in this fast-moving world.
In our day-to-day living we might ask: "How can I express this feeling of flowing love that will bless another?"
What a wonderful example Christ Jesus has set for us! One time he encountered a funeral procession. To the world, a funeral procession means only one thing, death—going to a dust pile. Jesus didn't just wait for the procession to pass by. He stopped it. He reached out and touched the bier, and said, "Young man, I say unto thee, Arise." Luke 7:14. And the young man rose up, alive.
