Feeling Love's closeness

A merely intellectual, hypothetical, or abstract sense of Deity gives us little if any feeling of closeness to God. But knowing the one God's ever-encompassing allness, we can demonstrate divine Love's closeness. In reality, divine Love is as near as one's consciousness. Receptivity to this truth leads us to the understanding of Father and son, and of their at-one-ment.

Mind, God, never deserts immortal man. However, the counterfeit concept of man, called mortal man and ruled by mortal mind, would seem to be a barrier between us and God. Assuming that barrier to be real, mortals go their own way, allowing false beliefs and sin to enter their thinking and then tending to blame God for the havoc wrought.

But God is Spirit, the only true creator and cause, and man as God's offspring is spiritual. "God created man in his own image. ... And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good," ^{Gen. 1:27,31.} the Bible declares. Illness, poverty, cruelty, are false, material beliefs, or error. They have no part in God's beautiful kingdom. In the entirety of good there is no room for evil.
