THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR
Its healing impact on individual lives—6
"Sometimes you can be so callous!"
With those words my mother cut short a cynical comment I was making about a tragic event being shown on television news. I deflected her words with a haughty look, but I didn't forget them.
The catalyst in my effort to learn something from her pointed but loving rebuke has been The Christian Science Monitor. For many of its readers, the Monitor is a mentally stretching source of insight and new ideas. It also can be heart-opening, a developer of the affections.
