Do we need to improve?
Man's perfection as the child of God! This luminous concept as understood in Christian Science can fill our lives with a depth of joy we've never known before.
Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes, "Man is spiritual and perfect; and because he is spiritual and perfect, he must be so understood in Christian Science." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 475. Does this mean that we are already perfect? That we don't have to improve?
Our perfect identity as God's idea, spiritual man, is the actual fact of true existence. Spiritual man doesn't need to improve, for he is the very expression of God's perfection. But how important it is to let this true nature of man come to light humanly in our thoughts and lives!
