Over three years ago, following an operation, I found myself in a very bad state of health. I suffered with severe rheumatic pain in my legs and feet and was able to walk only with the help of two canes. Also, because I had had curvature of the spine since childhood, which had worsened with advancing age, I walked with a stoop. A displaced vertebra caused me additional pain. It became clear that the doctors were unable to cure me.

One day during a visit, my cousin, a Christian Scientist, drew my attention to this teaching and gave me the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. She also gave me the address of a Christian Science practitioner, who immediately agreed to pray for me at my request.

Six months later, my spine had straightened, the deformed vertebra had returned to the proper position, and I was able to walk erect again. Gallbladder trouble was healed. Also the excess fluid in my legs, arthritic knots, and the pain, too, were all gone. I now walk without canes and am again able to take care of my work in the house and yard. I am eighty years old and feel healthy and fit.
