A Christian Science healing can come as naturally and as gently...
A Christian Science healing can come as naturally and as gently as the dawn—so sweetly that at first one is almost unaware of it. Such a healing occurred when I visited a Christian Science practitioner one day. She was not in her office when I entered, and I sat alone for a few minutes.
During this wait I was conscious of a wonderful sense of love enfolding me. Yet when the practitioner walked in, my eyes were filled with tears of sorrow. Until that visit I had not been aware of how much I had been missing my mother during what were my first years of married life. I explained this to the warmhearted practitioner, who then talked with me about God and how He is our loving Father-Mother, always at hand. When I left I felt warmly comforted and uplifted. Never again did I miss my mother. In the years that followed Mother and I had many happy times together, and even when she passed on there was no feeling of separation.
Each clearer glimpse I have gained of God's love and goodness, through my study of Christian Science, has brought with it greater freedom. This was indeed so when I was healed after some years of discomfort from nagging pain in one arm. At first the condition had seemed too trivial to be concerned about, although at night if I slept on the arm, the discomfort would waken me. Then, at the start of a few days vacation, which we had planned to spend at a fishing and boating resort, the arm became so painful that I found it almost impossible to dress myself.
