You can understand Christian Science
...because God made you able to understand Him and your relationship to Him. This understanding involves only spiritual ideas, not human concepts about material things.
God is completely nonmaterial. He is Life, Truth, Love, not just a superbeing who expresses life, truth, and love. Turning from material evidence (which is only the report of the limited and unreliable physical senses) to evidence of spiritual good (such as liveliness, truthfulness, loveliness, and so on), you find these qualities becoming more real to you. Making a commitment to seek out the spiritual goodness and truth in any situation, really working to see and cling to it despite any evidence to the contrary, is the beginning of the Christian Science way of life. As good becomes more and more a part of your life, you feel the satisfaction and happiness that are naturally yours.
In fact, you discover that in your real being you are inherently good. The things that seem not good about you, therefore, don't really belong to you. You begin to identify with good, separating your concept of yourself from everything evil, limited, or corruptible. Proving your true identity is what brings happiness into your experience. What you are really looking for all the time is the knowledge that you are good. And you can recognize yourself as the creation of perfectly good, infinite Mind.
