No way!

"No way!" says "absolutely not," "impossible." To me this popular phrase expresses a succinct and vivid way of dealing with the many forms of materiality so frequently thrust on us. We dispose of them when our stand is backed by the habitual realization of what is actually true—the perfection of God and His idea, man. This is God's way, our legacy from the Father, and we have the right and the ability to claim it by building up an impregnable barrier of "No way!" to halt in its tracks any spurious claim of a way other than God's.

When Jesus steadfastly withstood all those devilish temptations in the wilderness by holding to the "it is written" of God's law, his final "No way!" was "Get thee hence, Satan." Matt. 4:10. The spiritual strength indicated in that command sealed his victory over the beguilements of evil.

It is interesting to note that in the New Testament, especially Acts, the word "way" sometimes stands for Christianity, Christ-revealed truth. Jesus so fully presented the Christ that he was able to say, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6. In discussing the Master's resurrection, Mrs. Eddy states: "The I am was neither buried nor resurrected. The Way, the Truth, and the Life were never absent for a moment. This trinity of Love lives and reigns forever." Unity of Good, p. 63.
