Companion with Love
"God is Love." Just theory? The words shine at the heart of Christian teaching and worship. They appear on the walls of many churches. But what is their actual substance?
We live in a skeptical age. God seems remote to many people, hidden if He exists at all. Love divine? In a harsh world, is that sufficiently practical to accept as a standard of conduct? Many are so burdened with problems, harried with duties or pleasures, preoccupied with earthly concerns—they see no farther. A material sense of things is spiritually blind without knowing it.
Yet God is Love. This is the radiant reality that solves all problems. "The vital part, the heart and soul of Christian Science, is Love," Science and Health, p. 113. writes Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of this Science of Christianity.
