At one time a small growth appeared on one of my fingers

At one time a small growth appeared on one of my fingers. In the attempt to heal this condition, I used the Concordance to Mrs. Eddy's writings to study references on growth. Despite this study there seemed to be no improvement.

At a Christian Science lecture some time later, I learned that there is something more logical to prayer than simply asking Spirit, God, to remove a growth. A better way to pray is to become aware of the fact that since Spirit is infinite and therefore All, nothing is truly present but that which is spiritual. The Bible states (Acts 17:28), "In him we live, and move, and have our being." From this I reasoned that as a spiritual idea of God, I have my being in Spirit, so nothing unspiritual (material) can attach itself to me. Another line of reasoning dispelled any remaining apprehension: God is the source of being. Man is His effect. The only effect from an exclusively good cause must be good. Therefore anything ungodlike must be illusory and consequently powerless to harm or hinder. Conclusion: only good could be evidenced in my life.

Within two weeks of having pondered these ideas, I noticed that the growth had begun to close and shrink. Several weeks later there was no trace of the condition; new and smooth skin had replaced it. The healing has been complete.
