While still quite young, I was constantly searching for the right religion. This gave me an opportunity to become acquainted with the good intentions of many denominations. However, I found they all had one thing in common—they did not offer me satisfactory solutions to life's problems.
At a young age I suffered from hepatitis, diagnosed by our family doctor after giving me a through examination. He predicted I would be periodically burdened with this ailment for the rest of my days. In obedience to the doctor's orders, I began adherence to a strict diet. This continued for decades, and it made my life almost unbearable.
The turning point finally came when I decided to apply for work as a foreign correspondent and interpreter. My use of English had greatly improved through a lengthy stay in the United States, and I was polishing my knowledge of French.
