One day I looked in the mirror and saw a sore under my nose

One day I looked in the mirror and saw a sore under my nose. I kept picking at it, and it got bigger and bigger. Then one day the school nurse called my mom and told her to bring me home from school. She said I couldn't come back until the sore was all gone.

My mom and I prayed, and we also called a Christian Science practitioner to help us. The practitioner told me that I should not let any naughty wolf thoughts run around in my mind. I should be like a lamb and keep out the bad thoughts with pure and innocent thoughts. She asked me to read Science and Health, pages 567-568, where Mrs. Eddy tells us how the Lamb of Love slays the wolf. Every time I talked to the practitioner she reminded me to be a lamb.

At the end of the week I went to a school picnic. The principal looked at me. He asked me what we had been doing for the sore. We told him we had been praying in Christian Science. He told us it was all right and I could come back to school the next day, which was Monday.
