Listen ... and hear!
Most of us at some time have talked with a person whose attention wandered. His eyes became glazed, and we knew he was no longer listening. Rather disconcerting!
Do we sometimes do much the same thing when talking with God in prayer? Do we ask Him for guidance and then fail to listen for His answer? Perhaps we have already decided what the answer should be and have let human will take over. Or fear may enter, and we no longer trust God. Then we wonder why the healing we seek is delayed, the choices we must make are still confused, or the creativity we seek hasn't come.
Our basic need is to perfect the art of listening to God. And we develop the ability to listen by gaining a clearer understanding of Deity and of man's relationship to Him. God is our Father-Mother. He is the only Mind there is. As His perfect spiritual reflection, each one of us is united with this one Mind forever and receives Mind's thoughts. God expresses Himself continually, so there is no lapse in His communication to His creation.
