One morning my mom and I were going to go skiing at Keystone...
One morning my mom and I were going to go skiing at Keystone with my good friends Andy and Ten Eyck. When I woke up that day my throat hurt.
My mom asked me, "Whose day is this?" I said, "God's day!" We talked about the words from one of my favorite hymns in the Christian Science Hymnal, No. 342. It says: "This is the day the Lord hath made;/Be glad, give thanks, rejoice."
We rejoiced that God wouldn't allow anything to keep us from having a happy day of skiing. Then I said to Mom, "My throat doesn't hurt anymore."
It tried to hurt once again while we were skiing later, but we remembered the good thoughts we had talked about that morning. Then it didn't hurt at all.
When we finished our last run of the afternoon I said, "Thank you, God, for a happy day of skiing."
