More effective treatment
Christian Science is immensely practical. The teachings of Science unfold the truths of ultimate reality. But these truths are not abstract or theoretical. An understanding of them overturns specific discords—lack, fear, illness.
It's natural for everyone who discerns the nature of this revelation, whether he has just begun study or is a seasoned worker, to pursue better healing. Although marvelous healings are taking place, none of us is yet healing with the same consistent effectiveness that Christ Jesus practiced. Until we are healing with this consistency (and we surely will), each of us must strive to give more effective treatment.
Increasingly sound treatment is going to follow, of course, as a natural result of bringing more spirituality into our lives—into the way we think, our attitudes, our motives. But saying we need to develop spirituality is a rather general guideline. Very specific steps can be taken. Some students have found a necessity to be more thorough in their study. They needed to dig in and deepen their understanding of every word and phrase they read in the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings. Outstanding examples of healing have come when individuals have been willing to devote the necessary time and effort to embark on a detailed and thoroughgoing study of specific spiritual truths.
