We hear when we listen

What do we hear right now? Human voices? Automobiles? Our own thoughts? Much more. God is Mind—infinite Mind, the only real source of thought. This Mind is Spirit and is now voicing boundless spiritual good to its idea, man—the real selfhood of you and me. Being in truth God's idea, we have the capacity to understand every thought that Spirit is communicating to us.

In her writings Mrs. Eddy sometimes refers to God's messages as "angels." In Science and Health she explains, "Angels are pure thoughts from God, winged with Truth and Love, no matter what their individualism may be." ^{Science and Health, p. 298;}

Man, in his true nature, being entirely spiritual, does not hear through material organs called ears. He possesses only spiritual faculties and so receives, hears, only spiritual thoughts, or angels. These thoughts, the only real thoughts, are communicated directly from God to man, from Spirit to its idea, through spiritual sense. Even so-called material hearing is not really dependent on matter.
