People the world over hunger for greater closeness to God, more direct communion with Him, increased spiritual understanding—all of which bring healing.

Everyone may know and be healed through the Father's unlimited love. This highest communication is the Christ, a flowing in of spiritual light, flooding human consciousness with truth and revealing the true idea of being. Mary Baker Eddy, who discovered and founded Christian Science, declares, "Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness." ^{Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 332;}

Our part in this Christly communication is hearing and responding—doing. To hear, we must listen. And listening means yielding to divine Mind, refusing to heed suggestions that claim we have a mind or intelligence apart from this Mind. Since God's angel messages cannot enter a consciousness not open to receive them, self-discipline is needed to establish the required quietness.

As we better realize that God, divine Principle, never miscommunicates Himself to His idea, man, we bring our thought in accord with Principle's government and control. This "excommunicates" aggressive, evil beliefs—any seeming deviation from God, Principle. Discord in daily experience then grows beautifully less. Susceptibility to fear, loneliness, irritation, burden, progressively falls away. And with this, any apparent evidence of something that can never actually happen in God's kingdom also disappears.

Is there a temptation to believe in sickness? Mortal mind may suggest, "It has been a long time and still no healing." Prayerful communion with God empowers us to eliminate negative elements of thought that would tempt us to believe in matter. It frees thought for Mind's saving communication to us. With new courage and inspiration, let us refute mortal mind: "I am not interested in error's supposed time schedule, how unjust or unfair the problem seems, or why I should have to overcome something like this. What I am genuinely interested in is how unreal it is. In the allness of God, divine Love, there is no illness or inharmony of long or short duration, no flaw to be added to God's perfect creation."

In reality, evil suggestions have no might or force, because evil has never been given identity from God. It has never been to have power. As we listen intently to hear what we need to know of God and ourselves and others, the all-rightness of man as the exact image of God is recognized, and healing results.

Our communion with divine Love determines our conversation with our fellowman. Poor communication with others may result from a belief that man is a personal consciousness separate from God, rather than the individualized reflection of Mind. If we are humbly recognizing that the guiding Christ is ever present in the consciousness of all, we cultivate and enjoy improved communication with others. Our conversation will have its source in the divine Love that heals.

Do we sometimes find it difficult to communicate sincerely with one who has wronged us? A fresh, healing attitude may be found by recalling that Christ Jesus ate the Last Supper with one disciple whom he knew would betray him; another who would deny him; and a third who would doubt him. But he didn't withdraw behind a barrier of resentment. He communicated with all twelve about their commitment to the Christ. Because the Master beheld the man of God's creating, he was able to convey truth to his disciples, according to God's plan and purpose.

Truth, divine Love, is what needs to be communicated. If we are angry and revengeful, we are not communicating Truth and healing. Love communicates healing. Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says, "In love for man, we gain a true sense of Love as God; and in no other way can we reach this spiritual sense, and rise—and still rise—to things most essential and divine." ^{Miscellaneous Writings, p. 234;} When our approach to others is based on the spiritual fact that all reflect divine Love and are governed and controlled by the divine influence that blesses all, a feeling of being fellow workers for "things most essential and divine" develops. Isn't this the noblest of relationships?

Sometimes two people voice the same helpful thought simultaneously because they have been individually receptive to the same divine inspiration imparted by the one Mind. On the other hand, when there seems to be a difference of opinion, one might be led to say nothing, prayerfully acknowledging that, as Mrs. Eddy says, "the intercommunication is always from God to His idea, man." ^{Science and Health, p. 284.} True communication of the spiritual fact of God and man is a healing influence. When we realize in Christian Science the unreality of mesmeric evil beliefs—know they have no law to support them and forcefully denounce them—they cannot invade thought, dispossess faith and happiness, or call themselves our thinking.

Consistent communion with God enables us to hear God's angel messages and actively respond. And healing comes.
