No outsiders

Different culture, different history, knowledge,
Eliminate so many from the truth?
Can they believe, be wholly healed, as we can?
What help can come to such as seem uncouth?

Truth's not a helpless prisoner of culture.
Truth stands, believed in order to be seen.
The Canaanite, a rank outsider surely,
Began with crumbs, beginnings she could glean.

The Master sensed her appetite for seeing
No "outside" to the all-embracing God.
She found her daughter healed, her own faith answered,
When she could recognize and call him "Lord."
