"I am not afraid"

We have something more powerful than any feeling of fear. It is the ability to love and adore God. This capacity to worship God, to know Him, to feel His presence, is larger than fear. In any situation fear must give way, for fear has no solid foundation. It is based on an illusion that there is something God didn't make, something real to be afraid of. Such fearful mortal assumptions always yield to divine facts.

Our ability to love, adore, and obey God is inherent in our conviction that He exists, and in our understanding of what this means. The Christ is inexorably linked with our adoration of God. The Christliness of man's true being is always voicing God's presence, telling of His nature. Through the Christ, we gain such a clear understanding of God that we cannot help adoring the Divine Being and obeying Him.

Mankind have been urged not to be afraid, but to worship and serve God. He will fight their battles, destroy their enemies, bring their good works to fulfillment. In Jeremiah is the promise, "They shall fear no more, nor be dismayed." Jer. 23:4; Both the admonition and the promise of fearlessness are based on the scientific fact that man, the real man of God's making, hasn't the capacity for fear. He has the ability only to reflect the divine nature.
