For more than sixty-five years I have relied exclusively on God's help, and I am grateful for many healings and blessings. As a young girl I developed a painful condition of varicose veins. A doctor prescribed special rubber stockings; however, the pain was not alleviated.
At that time, my sister became acquainted with Christian Science. She and my three-year-old niece, who was seriously ill, were completely healed of their troubles within three days. From that point on, our entire family attended the Sunday services and Wednesday testimony meetings in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist.
We also purchased Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and I became deeply engrossed in its daily study. This sentence especially impressed me (p. 261): "Look away from the body into Truth and Love, the Principle of all happiness, harmony, and immortality." After a time the pain in my legs abated, and I discarded the rubber stockings. Shortly I was completely healed of the varicose veins. The unpleasant symptoms had left as I read and studied Science and Health. The healing proved to be permanent, for I have had no further problems with my legs. Following this healing, I became a member of The Mother Church and a branch church.
