Christian Science came into my life when I was down about as far as I could go. Depression and unhappiness were my constant companions. After many years of medical treatment, doctors told me that my condition was incurable and that I had only a limited time to live.
Soon after this I made a new friend. When my friend suffered a broken ankle and returned to work in just a few days, healed, I asked how this was possible. She told me she was a Christian Scientist and had been healed through prayer. I began asking questions—many questions.
I will never forget the first time I attended a Christian Science church service. There were so many happy, smiling people. I was especially impressed by the welcome the ushers gave me.
