"Before Abraham was, I am"
John 8:58
I, too, before Abraham?
Not the personal, mortal self,
but the image of that Person
announced from a bush ever burning
but never consumed.
Before Abraham was,
a self that never can be mortal (consumed)
whose Parent says
I AM THAT I AM.
With individuality rooted
in this Principle (inseparably reflecting
its boundlessness),
I am
before and after and through the time
of any illusory mortal.
This self that was before Abraham
now cradled
in holy consciousness.
The always-was.
