Right theology— essential to healing

Healing through prayer comes naturally as we learn more of God. In fact, healing is often simply a matter of replacing the human mind's ignorance about God with the truth.

A misunderstanding of God or even a lack of awareness of Him can be an uncomfortable—sometimes a deeply disturbing—factor in our lives. Too often, people actually suffer from not knowing God—or "knowing" the wrong things about Him.

Those who are practicing healing through prayer, as taught in Christian Science, have found it enormously important to daily deepen and broaden their comprehension of God. Through increasingly spiritual insights into God's allness—His infinite goodness—our healing capacity grows. This is the central factor in the Christian healing taught and practiced by Christ Jesus. A correct understanding of God and man is indispensable for consistent and effective healing work. True theology is irrevocably linked to healing. A right assessment of God, and man's relation to Him, is essential to practicing the powerful healing work Jesus encouraged of all his disciples.
