Although I attended a Christian Science Sunday School in my late teens, in early adulthood I drifted from this teaching. But unhappy circumstances caused me to return, and since then Christian Science has been my only physician. Our two sons were raised in Science, and our family has had many healings.

Early one Sunday morning I started to ride an old bicycle someone had given me. However, it had three speeds, and I was not used to having the brakes on the handlebars. I took off down an incline and went straight into the bushes. As I fell, the bike landed on top of me. When I finally got up, my pant leg was covered from the knee down with blood from a large wound. I managed to get into the house, wrap towels around the leg, and send the family off to church. I settled down on the living room sofa and prayed, realizing my perfect spiritual being as God's child. After church I called a Christian Science practitioner. With her prayer, the bleeding stopped.

The healing progressed, and I was able to go to the Wednesday evening testimony meeting, although there was a slight limp. The following Sunday I took my place as Sunday School teacher. In a week, as proof of my healing, I went dancing.
