There is no distance between God and His idea, man! As a new student of Christian Science, I was overjoyed to see proof of this in my own life.

We had just moved to a new town—my husband was in the Navy. One morning I woke early and decided to do a wash before the children got up. With an armful of clothes I missed a step and fell down the cellar stairs. As I fell I remember feeling that God was with me. I was conscious of the fact that man can never really be separated from God, and from His tender, loving care. I came to at the bottom of the stairs and found my head was bleeding quite severely. An angel thought came which assured me that as the reflection of God I was unchanged and untouched by a dream of living in matter. The bleeding stopped at once. I knew I should go to the top of the stairs, and as I crawled up I declared each bit of the way that God is my strength. When I reached the top I passed out.

About half an hour later my daughter found me and summoned my husband. As he was not a Christian Scientist, he called the hospital and his ship's doctor. I asked him to also call a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me.
