How fresh is your outlook?
The wide-eyed wonder with which a young child surveys the world around him is often in bold contrast with the approach of a more mature intellect. An eager appreciation of life is a priceless quality that need never be lost. It is possible for each one of us to maintain our inherent freshness.
One dictionary definition of "fresh" includes the following: "having its original qualities unimpaired:. . . not stale, sour, or decayed . . . not faded."
What are the original qualities of man—not of mortals but of the real man, whom God has created? Certainly they include the joy, spiritual strength, and liveliness that constitute man's very being. Their origin is God, and because God and man coexist, man's nature is established in changeless perfection. It cannot be diminished or impaired in any way.
