The one healing power
True healing is a glorification of God because it expresses God's magnitude, His all-embracing power and presence. Healing results from becoming conscious of what God knows man to be—the eternal, whole, and unchanging expression of His own glorious nature. It follows seeing the truth of God and man as applying directly to ourselves.
We heal when we refuse to love, honor, or believe in other powers. In Isaiah we read, "I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." Isa. 42:8; This is a stern reminder not to look to matter for life, health, or salvation. Mary Baker Eddy, who discovered and founded Christian Science, writes, "There is no 'lo here! or lo there!' in divine Science; its manifestation must be 'the same yesterday, and to-day, and forever,' since Science is eternally one, and unchanging, in Principle, rule, and demonstration." Retrospection and Introspection, p. 94;
