Painless pregnancy
When I became pregnant for the first time, I thought, "Why can't an expectant mother feel the joys of forthcoming parenthood as a father does, without the kind of distress that sometimes accompanies pregnancy and delivery?"
Much to my delight I learned she can. How? By spiritualizing her concept of the event through Christian Science. Study of Science showed me that I was truly a liberated woman and that all women can be free from tribulation in childbirth. As the expression of God, woman has never been under the allegorical curse that followed Eve's partaking of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. See Gen. 3:16;
What are the false beliefs that led to Eve's downfall? Part of Mrs. Eddy's definition of "Eve" in Science and Health reads: "a finite belief concerning life, substance, and intelligence in matter; error; the belief that the human race originated materially instead of spiritually,—that man started first from dust, second from a rib, and third from an egg."
