The merry-go-round

Margie and Winnie jumped out of the car and ran for the swings. Margie's mom had driven them to the park this cool Saturday morning. No one was on the playground, so all the swings, slides, teeter-totters, and the merry-go-round were waiting for riders.

Mom stayed in the car about fifty yards from where they were playing and read some Christian Science literature she had brought along. She looked up at the girls now and then as they played in the sunlight.

Margie and Winnie were friends from their fourth-grade class, and also they had both been attending the Christian Science Sunday School about seven years. They knew God to be their loving Father-Mother, who never went away.
