Mind and identity
[Original in German]
One of the seven synonyms for God which Mrs. Eddy has given us in the revelation of Christian Science, as recorded in Science and Health, is Mind. Another is Love. Divine Mind is divine Love, and divine Love is divine Mind.
Each of the seven synonyms is interchangeable in this way (the remaining five are Spirit, Life, Soul, Principle, Truth); each represents an aspect of God. A house seen from various sides offers a different view from each side, yet it is always the same house.
The English word mind and the German word Gemüt appear to be derived from the same ancient Germanic root—the root from which developed the Anglo-Saxon gemynd and the Gothic gamunds, both meaning "loving remembrance." Thus the original meaning includes the mental capacities of memory and love. That which I love, I think of; I remember it.
