Two years ago, at a corporation awards ceremony, I received a pin for twenty years service, and a special award for perfect attendance. The good health and quick healings that made that attendance record possible, I attribute to Christian Science.

During the twenty-year period there were many quick healings. Colds, flu, headaches, indigestion, and pain in the chest and stomach areas were overcome—sometimes through my own prayer and sometimes with the help of a Christian Science practitioner. In overcoming sickness, I have found it best to treat myself through scientific prayer, before going to sleep at night, rather than just trusting I'll feel better in the morning.

On mornings when I don't feel like getting out of bed and going to work, I reason that today is the happiest day of my life. God's ideas will never express more health, strength, vigor, intelligence, ability, and joy than they do now, and I am one of God's ideas. I continue this reasoning until my true identity as God's likeness is clear, and this correct concept has supplanted the material concept of man as a struggling mortal. By this time any indisposition or reluctance to get moving has either disappeared or is rapidly receding. As Mrs. Eddy states (Science and Health, p. 428), "The great spiritual fact must be brought out that man is, not shall be, perfect and immortal."
