A most gracious invitation
One day when I was feeling overburdened and discouraged and was wondering why it seemed that the more earnestly I prayed and the more I grew spiritually the more problems I had, I remembered Jesus' invitation: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart." Matt. 11:28, 29;
Never in history was there a man with greater responsibility. Yet he could say, "My yoke is easy, and my burden is light." v. 30; Jesus was humbly aware that he could do nothing of himself, that the source of his ability and strength was his perfect and permanent unity with God.
