Every child can heal

"Could I heal like that?" asked Tim in almost a whisper. The Christian Science Sunday School class had been talking about the marvelous healings brought about by Christ Jesus, and Tim was quite awestruck by the thought of making sick people well as the Master did.

The teacher had told them of the man who was healed of blindness after Jesus had said, "Receive thy sight." Luke 18:42; And of the woman who "was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself." 13:11; Jesus healed her, too, so that she could stand straight like other people. And the teacher had described, as well, what happened when Jesus stood by the tomb of his friend Lazarus, who had died four days before. Jesus had cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth," John 11:43; then, to the amazement and delight of the people standing by, Lazarus did come forth, alive and well.

When Tim asked, "Could I heal like that?" his kind heart was speaking. He knew some people who were crippled and ill, and the father of one of his friends had died not long before. He didn't like to see anyone suffer or be sad, and he longed to be able to make people well. How wonderful it would be if he could help them in the same way Jesus did!
