Many years ago my mother learned of Christian Science...

Many years ago my mother learned of Christian Science through reading a Sentinel. After several doctors had said she had only a few months to live, she was permanently healed of inflammatory rheumatism, a heart condition, and varicose veins, for which she had worn rubber leggings for many years. She led a very active life, in good health, for more than twenty years after that.

I am grateful that I attended Christian Science Sunday School a few years, and for the love and interest of the teachers.

A number of years ago I had severe headaches, especially on my day away from the office, when I had many tasks to perform. One day a headache was so severe I thought I would have to remain in bed. In reaching out to God for help I decided to go to the Christian Science Reading Room and study the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly. This I did. The words "riotous living" came to my attention. At first I dismissed them as certainly not applying to me. Finally I decided to look up the word "riotous" in the dictionary and found that it did apply to me. It was related to "quarrelsomeness." In an instant I was free of headache. When I saw the error of quarreling with myself, which I had been doing for some time about several inharmonious conditions, I was healed. Unhappy in my work, I was thinking of making a change. I also wanted to live somewhere better. When I came face to face with the real issue, I saw that spiritual understanding of my relationship to God would provide the answer, if only I reached out to Him. In less than a month both situations had changed. In fact, I lived for more than twenty-five years in my new apartment. The loveliness of this demonstration lay in the fact that the truth was instantly available when I was obedient and listened to my Father-Mother God.
