Forgive—and remember
Forgiveness is an important aspect of loving, of being Christian. But how to forgive is another question. If we feel justified in being angered by someone's ignorant or deliberate bad behavior, resentment is sure to linger. If left unchallenged, hurt feelings, grudges, are apt to fester into revenge or hatred. Certainly to be able to discard these most unbecoming attitudes would be a welcomed freedom.
"Forgive and forget" is often the friendly counsel we hear, but is this possible? This kind of advice sounds good. But if you've found, as I have, that you can't forget, stop trying and start remembering!
