In a healing of our son there was such a feeling of elation, of joyous confidence, that what Mrs. Eddy wrote in her books is true: man's true substance is spiritual, and God is all-powerful Love! Our joy prompts me to share this testimony.

Easter Sunday, 1976, our son was attacked by a dog. It appeared serious. When he first came in the house, I covered his face with the dish towel I was using, in order not to be impressed by the evidence. However, in the bathroom I was so shaky that I had to let my husband do the bandaging while I called a Christian Science practitioner for help. The practitioner's response was immediate, and I felt calm.

After the child was cleaned up, I laid him down and began to pray with him. We talked about the significance of the Easter season and Jesus' proof that life is not in or controlled by the body. God is man's Life. We both agreed that the dog was also governed by God, and we never felt any animosity toward it. I reminded my son of what Mrs. Eddy says (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 210), "Beloved Christian Scientists, keep your minds so filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them." Our whole family prayed, and so did those who witnessed the accident.
