It is with deep gratitude for the blessings we have received, thanks to the study and application of Christian Science, that I share this testimony of healing.

Some years ago a friend presented me with a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. It seemed difficult for me to understand, and so I put it aside until, in a moment of great fear, it revealed itself to me as a certain and loving guide. For several months my little daughter had been suffering from a painful muscular contraction in her left eye, and the treatment and medicines prescribed by the pediatrician were ineffective. His diagnosis was a difficult name, which I do not remember.

My sorrow at seeing the child suffer drove me to look for the name of a Christian Science practitioner in The Herald of Christian Science, Italian Edition. The practitioner spoke to me of God's love for all His children; she spoke to me of the definition of "children," which Mrs. Eddy gives us in Science and Health. It begins (p. 582): "Children. The spiritual thoughts and representatives of Life, Truth, and Love." She also directed me to these passages in Science and Health: "God creates and governs the universe, including man. The universe is filled with spiritual ideas, which He evolves, and they are obedient to the Mind that makes them" (p. 295) and "All reality is in God and His creation, harmonious and eternal. That which He creates is good, and He makes all that is made" (p. 472). No sooner had my little daughter and I begun to understand God as Father-Mother, our only creator, than the nervous tic completely ceased. I began to acquire more and more faith in the healing Principle, divine Love, taught in Christian Science. Although the pediatrician had also told me that my daughter had a serious deviation of the nasal septum, which would disfigure her face and cause suffering unless she were operated on, thanks to the consecrated study of this marvelous Science and the continuous prayerful support of the practitioner, my fear that that would occur disappeared, and the little girl grew to be healthy and normal. Now she is an excellent student and enjoys perfect health.
