A Period of Marvelous Good
This title, perhaps you think, doesn't refer to the current age! Yet if we are not at all aware of marvelous good, then we need a more spiritual perspective. What we see about us is largely determined by the mental positions we adopt.
Christian Science can give us the spiritual discernment to recognize the marvelous good of today. And it can give us the spiritually scientific understanding that the bad is, sooner or later, self-canceling. The more we understand that divine Mind is the only creator and look out from the perspective of divine Mind, the more we will recognize Mind's ideal creation.
Showing us how to cultivate the spiritual talent to do this is a major contribution of Christian Science. Because it is the Science of eternity, it is the Science for what humans call the present and the future. As we grow in understanding its spiritual unfoldment of God's creation—so beautifully depicted in metaphorical terms in the first chapter of Genesis—we're truly modern-minded. In this way we can play a special role in appreciating the good in contemporary life.
