What Will We Become?

Much thought is given today to evolution, not just to discover mankind's origin but also to consider what the human race is to become. Many are wondering if and how biological experiments will alter mankind in the future and how the changing environment will affect humanity. We all wonder about our individual progress. Do you look forward with fear or with hope, with a sense of loss or with the expectancy of ever-appearing good?

The study of biological evolution, interesting though it may be, can limit mankind's prospects as often as it may seem to expand them, for the premises of the natural sciences are formulated from the way matter appears to behave. We need to look beyond the evidence of material behavior and discover the spiritual man and universe God has really created. Neither cell structure nor environment is man's governing force. God governs man.

As our thought extends Godward, both our physical environment and our bodies become more harmonious. Therefore, predicting our individual progress from material patterns of the past puts walls around our expectations. More certain progress for individuals and mankind requires a spiritual uplook, an awakening to what man really is.
