Shed false values for true ones
The Ten Commandments: Moral Code, Spiritual Law
When Moses led the Israelites through the wilderness, the community needed rules to follow. The people did not understand the moral implications of God's revelation of His infinite identity: "I AM THAT I AM." Ex. 3:14;
On Mount Sinai Moses received from God the Ten Commandments. These were moral demands upon each member of the community to honor and obey only one God and to respect the other members of the community.
As Christ Jesus taught, preached, and healed, he brought out the spiritual values of the Mosaic code. He demonstrated that they were spiritual guideposts to the kingdom of heaven. If these guideposts were missed, people would find themselves on the road to sin, sickness, and death.
