Christian Science has healed me of heart trouble and transformed my nature.

In January 1971, I experienced a coronary infarction while in an Air Force base hospital. I spent over five weeks in the hospital and six weeks at home recuperating before going back to work part-time. I did not recover to any satisfactory degree and returned twice to spend several days in the hospital during the following two years. I felt I would survive only a year or so and wanted to have my family better qualified to take over the family business. I didn't make much headway as I had conflicts with the children and my wife. I was forced into a series of psychotherapy sessions. The sessions were unproductive, and finally I decided if I were going to survive I must get into a calmer atmosphere. I tried to get the business books up to date.

My wife had been reading Christian Science literature for five or six months, and in November 1972 I began to read some of the publications—the Christian Science Sentinel and The Christian Science Journal first, and later Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy.
