Reasoning from a Spiritual Standpoint Brings Healing
The ability to reason provides unlimited potential for the improvement of human lives. But reasoning from a material standpoint often results in limitation, discouragement, and acceptance of defeat. Through Christian Science we can learn to reason from the standpoint of Spirit, God, and claim our freedom from supposed material laws of disease, discord, and limitation.
The understanding needed to attain a spiritually scientific viewpoint is gained through study of the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, together with prayer, self-discipline, and alertness. In this way we learn that man, correctly understood, is spiritual, unlimited, reflecting God, good. This Christly view expands our mental horizon, bringing increased health, harmony, and happiness into our lives.
In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, against the marginal heading "Standpoints changed," we find Mrs. Eddy's words: "When understanding changes the standpoints of life and intelligence from a material to a spiritual basis, we shall gain the reality of Life, the control of Soul over sense, and we shall perceive Christianity, or Truth, in its divine Principle. This must be the climax before harmonious and immortal man is obtained and his capabilities revealed." Science and Health, p. 322;
